A B2B Variable Template uses a Data Schema feature to automatically apply formatting to variable fields. This allows you to maintain branding standards that are dictated by your customer.
Step 1: Data Schema
- On the Home screen, click on Data
- Click on New > Schema
- Name > Business Card (Data Driven)
String Field Types
- Fields > Add Field
- Field Name > Full Name (Field Name must match the name of the Design Field Name)
- Field Type > String
- Apply
Repeat the process above for the following String Field Types
- Title/Position
- Website
- Address
- City, State, Zip
Number Field Types
- Add Field
- Field Name > Phone
- Field Type > Number
- Number Format > Select format > Phone Number 2 (this will format any input numbers as ###-###-####)
- Apply
Repeat the process above for the following Number Field Types
- Phone
- Phone 2
Identifying String
- Under Identifying String choose Name
- Save
Step 2: Import a Design
- On the Home screen, click on Visit Designs
- Click on New > Import (a sample file is available at the bottom of this article)
- Right click on your Design to Rename your design to Business Card (Data Driven)
Step 3: Link Data Schema
- Right click on the Business Card (Data Driven)
- Schema > Link with
- Select > Business Card (Data Driven)
Step 4: Product Specifications
- Click on Product Specifications > Create new
- Name > Business Card (Data Driven)
- Personalization Workflow > Data Driven Editor
- Design > Business Card (Data Driven)
- Save
Step 5: Test
- Click on the Test button to preview what your customer will see online.
Step 6: Link to Product
- Settings > Online Configuration > Products
- Locate or Create Product
- Edit
- Enable Edit Mode
- Online Tab - scroll down to Variable Template and select the correct Product Specification
