The Lock to Formula determines how to calculate the quantity for a department item. There are several preset formulas but these options can also be customized. Create your own customized lock to formula by selecting the variables you'd like to factor into the calculation.
e.g. To calculate hard copy proofs for each page, add 'Sheets' x 'Versions' x 'Sides' to get each piece of separate printed artwork
Creating a New Lock to Formula
Step Action
1. Select {Settings} and then select {Department Items} under Dockets.
Select {Lock to Formulas} tab.
2. Select {New} under Lock To Formulas. A New Lock To Formula modal
window will open.
3. Complete the fields.
Field | Description |
Name | Enter Name of Lock To Formula. |
Variables | Select formula Variables from the drop-down menu. Note: Variables will calculate based on Imperial or Metric measurement unit settings. (See Configuration - Measurement Units) |
Display Formula | Select the Formula from the drop-down menu. |
4. Select {Save}. A results window will pop-up to indicate the Lock To Formula
has been saved.
