General - Editing a PDF Document


PDF documents can be generated for statements, shipping invoices, workorders, etc. The PDF document can be generated in docketmanager for printing or as part of an email. After the PDF file has been generated, it can be edited.


Note: The user will only see options to edit PDF document if their security role provides them the access.


To edit a PDF file generated for printing:

Step      Action

  1.        Select PDF file to be generated (ie. printed statement, printed invoice, printed work order, etc.) 

             The PDF file will open in a separate window.

  2.     Select {Edit} on the top left corner. The PDF file will appear in editable format.       

  

The icons on the bottom left corner can be used to toggle between design mode, html mode, and preview mode of PDF document.


3.    Make desired changes to the document.

4.    To view document changes or return to PDF document window for printing, select {Preview} on top right corner.

       

        Note: Document changes will only be applied to printed document. To retain edited document, select to download file before printing.



To edit PDF file as an email attachment:

Step      Action

  1.        Select PDF file link under attachment. 


             An Edit Document modal window will open.

 

  2.     Select {Edit} on the bottom right corner. The PDF file will appear in editable format.       

  

The icons on the bottom left corner can be used to toggle between design mode, html mode, and preview mode of PDF document.


  3.    Make desired changes to the document.

         Note: To view document changes, select {Preview} on bottom right corner of modal window.


  4.    Select {Update} to save edited document. You will be returned to the Email modal window.
