The handling fee is applied to an order when a shipment is made or shippo is used. It covers the cost for the packaging, repackaging and movement of goods. The fee can be set as a percentage or dollar value.

Note: The handling fee is not applied if a Ship Type is used in place of a shipment/Shippo.

As the handling fee can be added in multiple ways on DocketManager, a hierarchy exists for applying the fee.

The handling hierarchy is as follows:

1. Customer - This should only be set if the value is different than the portal they have access to or the system default.

2. Portal - This should only be set if the value is different than the system default

3. General Settings - The system default.
