Data Schemas

Data Schemas are used by the data-driven editor option. They allow you to set formatting rules that maintain branding and overall consistency across orders in a B2B environment.

 

An example of this would be the formatting of a Phone Number ###-###-####. 

If a Data Schema was not used, users would be able to format their phone numbers however they like. This would create inconsistencies between various users' business cards that work for the same company.


Create a Data Schema

Step     Action

     1.    Select {Online Orderingand then select {Variable Templates 

              New} and then select {Data}.

      2.    Click on {New}. You have 3 options: 

             Folder: This allows you to organize your images

             in folders and subfolders e.g. Customer and 

             Template type
             Schema: Are attached to a Design used for B2B

             Templates.
             Import: This allows you to import Data Schemas 

             from Data Schemas that were downloaded from 

             Customer's Canvas. To download Data Schema, 

             right click on the Data Schema and click

             on {Download}.


 


      3. Enter in the Name of the New Schema e.g. Business Cards

      4. Select {Field Name}.

       Select Folder - Add a folder with all the images in Data Schemas

       If required, check off the Required box

         Select whether a user should be able to upload images, pick it from a library or both.

       Any - Upload or select an Image from a library

       Assets - Select from a library

       Upload - Upload an image

       Add Error Text

       Enter Description

       Enter Prompt

       If required check off the Required box

       Select Format Type that you would like as the default

       Enter a sample of the format

       Add Constraints and Error Text

To add a selection in a dropdown menu click on Add variant. 

Value - The text displayed on the layout.

Display Name - The name displayed in the dropdown selection.


After completing one of the above click on {Apply}.

Next, select an Identifier - This will show up on an Order Item in the name field after the product description and in the production file name.
