Items - Creating a New Item from Scratch



Step     Action

  1.       From the Items table, hover mouse over {New} and select {From Scratch} from the 

            drop-down. A New Order/Quote Item page will open on the Details tab.

  2.     Complete the Details fields.

Field
Description
NumberThe Number will be systemically generated.  
NameEnter a Name for the order item. 

This is the name of the item that will display throughout the system. It is the name used for displaying products online, and amending the variable template name to. 

Note: When a Job Template is added to an item, it will override the name and description field to that of the selected template. Any name customization will need to be re-entered.
DescriptionEnter a Description for the order item.

This is the description of the item that can be used internally or displayed to the customer. Online it is only displayed on the Product Details page.

Insert Job Template
Select to Insert Job Template. An Add Template modal window will open.
Check the box on the left-hand side of template to be added and select {Add}.
Units of MeasureSelect an option from the drop-down that connects quantity and sets. (i.e. 500 Pads of 50)

Note: These options can be modified. (See Dockets-Units of Measure)
SetsEnter a value for the number of repeat artwork on a job. (i.e. 50 sheets for a pad, 31 sets of 3 part NCR)
VersionsEnter a value for the number of items with the same specifications but different art. (i.e. 2 names for a business card, 2 brochures - 1 English and 1 French)
SheetsEnter a value for the number of physical Sheets it takes to make one finished piece. (i.e. 20 page booklet is 5 sheets, 3 sheets corner stapled is 3 sheets)
PagesEnter value for the number of Pages in an item (i.e. 20 page booklet is 20 pages)

Note: This value is just informational.
Item TypesSelect an Item Type from the drop-down menu.

QueueSelect a Queue to assign from the drop-down menu.

Note: These options can be modified. (See Dockets-Queue)
StatusesSelect some Statuses from the drop-down menu.

Note: These options can be modified. (See Dockets-Statuses)
Graphics, Press, Finishing, Shipping, and Item Due Date
Select Graphics, Press, Finishing, Shipping, and Item Due Date using the pop-up calendar.

Note: Selecting an Order Due Option will automatically adjust these dates.
Time SensitiveSwitch default set to No. If switch set to Yes, item is Time Sensitive.

Note: If Yes selected, a time picker is activated on all due dates.
Order Due OptionsSelect an Order Due Option.
The Graphics, Press, Finishing, Shipping, and Item Due Date will automatically adjust based on your selection.

Graphic ArtistSelect a Graphic Artist to assign from the drop-down menu.
Assign ToSelect an Assign To individual from the drop-down menu.
TagsSelect some Tags from the drop-down menu.

Note: These options can be modified. (See Dockets-Tags)

      

  3.      Select {Save} or {Save and View}. Save and View will save the Order/Quote Item 

           and open the item's view page.
