A shipping cost can populate in the Shipping Total based on the Ship Type that has been set on the order. This method does not require an actual shipment be added to the order. If an order has a Ship Type applied, the system will automatically charge whatever amount has been set on that Ship Type.

The Ship Types are set up using Settings > Order Options and can have no value, a dollar value or a percentage value. For more information, see Shipping - Type.

Notes: 

• If one or more shipments are applied to the order, the Shipping Total value will populate based on the price listed on the shipment(s). This value will override that of the Ship Type. If the shipment has no price, the Shipping Total will still override to $0.00. For more information on adding a shipment, see Shipments - Creating a Shipment.
• If no shipment or ship type is applied to the order, the Shipping Total box will become an editable field and you can enter a custom amount for shipping. This method also does not require an actual shipment be added to the order.
