Credit Hold
Credit Hold displays an on-screen warning when a customer's account is overdue. You can also enable a setting that prevents new orders from being created for that account.
Credit Hold Default Settings
Location: Settings > Accounting > Financial > Credit Hold
30 - 90 Day Drop-downs
Drop-downs are available for various time periods, but if only one such as 30 Days is set to Warning or Hold, that setting will apply to all other time periods as well.
Over Credit Limit
The Over Credit Limit dropdown is tied specifically to the Credit Limit setting at the Customer level.
Location: CRM > Customer > Select Customer > Actions > Edit > Financial
Selection Options
By default, all drop-downs are set to Select an Option. Each dropdown provides two available choices: Warning and Hold. Warning and Hold settings apply specifically to order creation and do not affect quotes.
Warning
If Warning is selected, an on-screen message will appear when an order is created for a customer whose account is overdue by the number of days specified in the dropdown. An order can be created for a Customer that is set to Warning.
Along with the on-screen warning, a blue warning icon is also displayed at the customer level in CRM and Quotes/Orders.
Hold
If Hold is selected, an error message will appear when an order is created for a customer whose account is overdue by the number of days specified in the dropdown. An order cannot be created for a Customer that is set to Hold.
In addition to the error message shown when attempting to create an order, a Red Hold icon is also displayed at the customer level within CRM and Quotes/Orders.

Credit Limit
As mentioned above, the Credit Limit field is directly linked to the Credit Limit dropdown in the default settings. If Warning or Hold is selected in the default settings and the credit limit is exceeded, an on-screen warning (for Warning) or an error message (for Hold) will be displayed.
Exclude From Credit Hold
The Exclude From Credit Hold dropdown is set to No by default. To exclude a specific customer from the default Credit Hold system settings, simply change this value to Yes.
30 - 90 Day Drop-downs / Over Credit Limit
These dropdown selections serve as overrides to the default system settings for a specific customer. They only need to be filled out if the customer’s settings differ from the system defaults.
